The purpose of the University Institution Colegio Mayor del Cauca of projecting programs that involve academic activity with the community, generating social impact upon analizing problems from the environment to propose solutions and establish links or social-academic networks with institutions, organizations and different trade groups.
The purpose is consolidated through Social Projection as bidirectional process that contributes indispensable principles of social responsibility for comprehensive formation of students in technological and professional programs upon applying mechanisms to improve the quality of life of the people affected and receive recognition from the social group for the work supported in institutional values and principles.
The relationship between the environment and the University Institution Colegio Mayor del Cauca is founded on policies that govern the research system from a pertinent, comprehensive, and flexible curriculum; commitment with regional development , optimize physical, technological, economic, and human talent resources toward the consolidation of a research culture through visible academic processes in micro curricula and the curricular grid reflected in the community projects.
