The Office of Internationalization seeks to support and coordinate the internationalization process in its involvement with the global academic world by establishing cooperation agreements with national and foreign universities and institutions in research, academic, cultural, and scientific issues. It aims fundamentally at the creation of an international culture, exchange of experiences by students, faculty staff, and administrative staff.
Incorporating the international dimension onto the substantive functions of the University Institution Colegio Mayor del Cauca is a priority theme because it fundamentally tries to change paradigm, meaning an effective response to the phenomenon of globalization, Information and Communication Technologies, economic integration, free markets, and other phenomena product of global tendencies.

Internationalization, then, has as a purpose institutional enhancement, contributing to improve mission and administrative processes of the Institution through promoting interinstitutional cooperation with international entities of high prestige by establishing partnerships and agreements that enable mobility, exchange, bilateral execution of development projects, articulation to networks, transference of technologies, and cultural exchange, as necessary elements to competitively enter globalization.
